This page outlines the STAR Program’s commitment to digital accessibility and inclusive online experiences. Learn how we align with WCAG standards to ensure our website is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Includes feedback contact information and details on ongoing improvements.
The Special Treatment and Research (STAR) Program is deeply committed to ensuring digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities. As part of our mission to promote equitable access to care, services, and information—especially for historically underserved communities—we strive to meet or exceed current accessibility standards for our website and digital platforms.
STAR Program continuously evaluates and updates our website to improve accessibility and usability for all visitors. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), with a goal of achieving Level AA compliance. These standards help ensure digital content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for users of all abilities.
While we aim to make all content on www.starprogram.nyc fully accessible, some materials may not yet conform to the highest accessibility standards due to technical limitations or the nature of third-party integrations. We are actively working to resolve these issues.
We welcome and value feedback on the accessibility of our site. If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our digital content or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
Email: STARMedia@downstate.edu
Response time: We strive to respond to all inquiries within 3–5 business days.
As part of our ongoing commitment to digital equity, the STAR Program may revise this statement and update our practices to reflect changes in technology, user needs, and applicable laws and standards.
