Brooklyn Pride 2025: Celebrating Health, Love & Community Just the Way You Are

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Park Slope came alive with color, joy, and connection as STAR Program, THEO Program, and HEAT Program came together for one of the most meaningful outreach moments of the year at Brooklyn Pride 2025.

From 11:00 AM onward, 5th Avenue between Union Street and 9th Street transformed into a welcoming, affirming space where Pride meant more than celebration. It meant care, visibility, and community power.

Just the Way You Are

This year’s theme was simple, bold, and deeply intentional: Just the Way You Are.
Across every interaction, photo, and conversation, that message resonated clearly. Everyone was welcomed exactly as they are, with dignity, respect, and access to resources that support real life and real health.

A Day Rooted in Joy and Access

Throughout the day, community members were invited to:

  • Walk the Rainbow Carpet and take a free Pride photo keepsake
  • Engage in interactive games, learning, and conversation in our Activities space
  • Learn about PrEP, DoxyPEP, HIV prevention, sexual health, and mental health support
  • Access culturally responsive resources in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and more
  • Get directly connected to STAR, THEO, and HEAT services on the spot
  • Enjoy music, affirmations, giveaways, and nonstop positive energy

Whether people stayed for hours or stopped by briefly, the message was the same. This was a space of warmth, empowerment, and trust.

Pride With Purpose

For STAR, THEO, and HEAT, Pride has always been about more than a parade route. It is about showing up where people are, breaking down barriers to care, and making health information accessible without judgment. Brooklyn Pride 2025 reflected that mission beautifully.

Every smile, conversation, and connection reinforced a shared belief. Healthy communities are built when people feel seen, valued, and supported.

Moving Forward Together

Brooklyn Pride 2025 reminded us what is possible when celebration and care walk hand in hand. Together, we strengthened community bonds, shared life-saving information, and affirmed that health equity belongs to everyone.

You are seen.
You are valued.
You are celebrated.
