We’re proud to share that Marc Liff, LCSW, ACSW, Senior Clinical Social Worker at the STAR Program, will present his recent work on trauma-informed supervision at the 2026 Join the Journey Conference, hosted by the New York State Trauma-Informed Network and Resource Center.
The free conference will take place September 22–23, 2026, in Saratoga Springs, New York, bringing together professionals, advocates, community leaders, educators, caregivers, students, and New Yorkers committed to advancing trauma-informed practices across systems and communities.
This year’s conference theme, “Cultivating Connections,” focuses on the power of meaningful relationships, shared learning, wellness, storytelling, and community-building as pathways toward more trauma-informed work and care.
Building on his 2026 article in Behavioral Health News, Marc will present on how trauma-informed supervision and reflective practice can help behavioral health clinicians navigate countertransference, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and the emotional impact of clinical work. His work emphasizes that supervision is not only an administrative responsibility, but also a critical space for safety, trust, reflection, collaboration, and professional growth.
Marc’s presentation reflects the STAR Program’s ongoing commitment to supporting both patients and providers through compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care. As behavioral health professionals continue to serve individuals and communities impacted by trauma, structured reflective supervision remains essential to workforce resilience, ethical care, and long-term healing.
The Join the Journey Conference creates space for New Yorkers of all backgrounds to connect, learn, restore, and strengthen trauma-informed practices in their work and communities.
