Healthy Aging Group
BN2H sponsors a weekly Healthy Aging Group that focuses on strategies for aging well. This group is guided by the 4M Framework for Age-Friendly Care, which encompasses What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility.
Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to:
– Sexual health and aging
– Menopause
– Advanced Directives
– Risks associated with polypharmacy (the use of multiple medications)
– Medications that may be risky for older adults
– Mental health issues such as depression and anxiety
– Cognitive concerns, including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, delirium, and sundowning
– Fall risk and prevention
– Muscle loss (sarcopenia) and deconditioning
– Aging in place
– Assistive devices such as canes and walkers
