World AIDS Day 2026 Event at SUNY Downstate: Remembrance, Resilience, Connection & Action

Join the SUNY Downstate STAR Program, THEO, HEAT, and community partners for a powerful World AIDS Day gathering centered on remembrance, resilience, connection, and action.

Taking place on Friday, December 11, 2026, this special community event will bring together patients, youth, advocates, healthcare professionals, artists, and community members to honor lives affected by HIV/AIDS, celebrate progress, amplify community voices, and recommit to the work ahead.

The program will feature the 2026 Survivors’ Quilt, an art exhibition, personal storytelling, HIV awareness and education, and meaningful community discussion. Through art, lived experience, and conversation, the event will create space to remember those we have lost while recognizing the strength, creativity, and resilience of people and communities continuing to shape the HIV response.

The main program begins at 11:00 AM, followed by a special THEO/HEAT youth program beginning at 4:00 PM.
