Staff Spotlight: Alexis Fields, MPH, Assistant Director, Systems Change for Outreach, Prevention, and Engagement (SCOPE)

In January 2026, Alexis Fields, MPH, began a two-year term on the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene HIV Planning Group, further extending STAR’s leadership in citywide HIV planning and policy.

Alexis brings a strong record of service across HIV prevention, testing, sexual health, and systems change. She also serves on the NYC DOHMH HIV Planning Group/Planning Council Joint Policy Committee and is a leader of the New York State Brooklyn Ending the Epidemic Steering Committee, where she has served since 2025 and became Co-Chair in 2026.

Her broader community leadership includes longstanding participation in the NYC DOHMH Sexual Health Advisory Group, New York Knows/Brooklyn Knows citywide HIV testing initiative, and Hep Free NYC Network.

Through these roles, Alexis helps connect STAR’s on-the-ground experience in outreach, prevention, and engagement with broader city and statewide efforts to strengthen HIV prevention, testing, linkage to care, and health equity.
